The fourth season of Attack on Titan was a nice surprise for fans as it took the franchise in a new direction with some changes to the story but also changes to the character lineup.
Rather than focusing on a few characters like we had become accustomed to, the fourth season of Attack on Titan focused on four new characters and their squads.
This resulted in a much larger cast with many more action scenes. This was part of a shift that has been going on for about two seasons now, as more and more characters have been added to the roster over time along with some interesting new enemies.
Attack On Titan Season 5 Release Date Confirmed?
One thing that’s very important to note about the upcoming Attack on Titan season 5 release date is that the series is going to be sticking with a 13 episode format.
Fans have become pretty used to the extended length of the Japanese anime season due to the time differences and unfortunately, there is no way for a 22 episode anime to be released in as many countries as there are.
It remains to be seen whether or not the folks at Funimation will also produce dub and subtitle for the new season, but if they do it is likely it will come at a later date.
Even though there’s not any confirmation of the 5th season there’s a slight chance of getting the next part. With the immense amount of success, this series has got. It’s less likely that the creators will stop now. And at least give fans what they want.
The story started off with Eren Yeager chasing down the person who killed his mother and while he is eventually successful in this endeavor, he learns that the truth behind his mother’s death was far more complex.
In fact, the entire government has been hiding secrets from him for years and this was something he was not happy about.
He went on to join the Scouting Legion in order to take down the government and preserve peace, but mostly he did so out of frustration and anger. As the series continued it followed more of a political path than a military one, with much more focus on characters like Eren and his father Grisha.
One of the biggest questions for season five is how much this will change with the new season and how many characters from Attack on Titan season 4 will be returning.
We know that all the new characters have at least some background, so they will all be returning, but there’s also a good chance that they will be getting a much bigger role in the next season.
No one from the previous season of Attack on Titan has not been confirmed as returning for Season 5 and it has been teased that this new season will focus more on the Titans themselves than any other major characters.
This is what makes this so exciting for fans who have been hungering for more Titan vs. Titan action. This will be a very interesting way to handle the new season, as we haven’t seen nearly as much of these Colossal beings as a lot of us would like to have seen by now.
